My fiance Christina is finishing her degree at UOP. While I think that overall the program is amazingly well put together and done, there are some things (namely some students) that just perplex me with the absolute stupidity of the situation.
Case in point:
The other night I was helping Christina re-write a paper that her team had produced. How it comes that a person that is about to receive a BS cannot write a essay (by this I mean cannot form logical structure, arguments, supporting documentation, and references) when the first required class that all UOP students are required to take is this very thing.
But what really scared me was this girl (who is an accountant) in the team who was arguing with Christina that her financial data taken from a 10-Q was really the annual data. When you print out the page and email the link to Yahoo finance to someone and they still argue that you are wrong and they are right makes me: 1) have no faith in our country’s education system, and 2) wonder about all of these companies that require a BA/S for employment. Seriously, what do you expect you are hiring? A college grad?
