A co-worker of mine once told me his strategy with dealing with junk mail. Next time you get an offer for a credit card with a postage paid return envelope included, stuff that envelope full with as much junk mail that you can and send it back to them. It doesn’t accomplish anything in the means of getting your name off of a list, but it just might brighten your day thinking about some other sap opening it up.

A little-known Federal law allows individuals to send a Prohibitory Order against companies that are sending unsolicited sexually provocative or erotically arousing mail. The Supreme Court went one step further, allowing individuals to decide what constitutes “erotically arousing” mail. The law makes it illegal for a company to send mail to an individual within thirty days of receiving the Order.
